Your hotel
Nestled on the Easter Ross seaboard, against the wide-open skies of the Northern Highlands, this small 5* hotel is truly a treat to be savoured. Step back in time to an era of gracious living and enjoy the courteous welcome of the genial hosts, who have left nothing to chance when considering their guests' comfort. The 18th century hotel exudes Scottish hospitality and the atmosphere is very much country house party. Here visitors are welcomed as friends, indeed there are no room keys, and everyone meets for drinks in the drawing room before dinner. Meals are a particular highlight, and the chef uses fresh local produce, and vegetables, herbs and fruit which are all grown in the hotel's own walled garden. Fine wines and conversations, as well as a full range of malt whiskies, flow, transforming your stay into a treasured memory.
The decor has a reassuringly rich and comforting charm which encourages relaxation. The attention to detail is warming. Each of the superb en-suite bedrooms are individually furnished and offer glorious views across the gardens.
After a hearty breakfast the hotel grounds are particularly inviting. A stroll down the leafy tree-lined avenue leads to a deserted sandy beach with distant views across the firth to Cromarty.
