Scotch Whisky Cocktails
Cocktails Containing Whisky Scotch whisky is an incredibly versatile drink. It can be drunk straight, with water, with Ice or a whole host of mixers. It has inspired bartenders to create some fantastic combinations. Here are just a few to try.
Auld AllianceShake together:
25ml of Scotch Whisky,
juice of half lemon,
15ml of Cointreau,
dash of sugar syrup,
ice.
Pour into a highball glass, top with lemonade.
Berry RoyaleIn a wide Champagne glass stir together:
dash of strawberry syrup (or puree of 2 to 3 fresh strawberries),
25ml measure of Scotch Whisky
Then slowly fill the glass with chilled Champagne or sparkling wine and a strawberry to decorate.
BannockburnShake together:
25ml of Scotch Whisky,
tomato juice,
dash of Worcester sauce,
dash of Tabasco sauce, pinch of salt.
Fill a glass with ice and pour the mixture over and decorate with freshly ground black pepper.
Mint SpritzerStir together in a highball glass:
One large (50ml) measure of Scotch Whisky,
3 teaspoons of sugar,
sprigs of fresh mint.
Fill the glass with crushed ice, top with soda water and garnish with a sprig of mint.
