The newly renovated Melvich Hotel is ideally located in the heart of the wild northern Highland coastline. Built in 1895 as a coach house, the hotel has been lovingly upgraded over the past three years offering twelve impeccable guest bedrooms with a combination of standard and master rooms. The restaurant offers the cream of local produce with a stunning view of Melvich Bay, the Pentland Firth and the Orkney Isles to accompany your meal. With a collection of over one hundred malt and blended whiskies, the hotel offers regular whisky tastings over the summer season and our guest lounge with roaring fire and guest library offers the chance to unwind while savouring the best our distilleries have to offer.
Scotland's north coast has a vast array of activities for all tastes - from world class surf breaks and excellent fishing and hunting, to stunning scenery and rugged coastline for cycling or walking excursions. Amongst a variety of outstanding day trips, our local distillery, Old Pulteney , is a short drive east to Wick, the bird watching at the Forsinard RSPB Nature Reserve is second to none and the immense views from Ben Loyal and Ben Hope are hard to beat. Additionally, Scrabster Harbour is a short twenty minute drive away for those wishing to catch a ferry to the Orkney Isles for some island sight seeing. There is something for everyone and the Melvich Hotel is perfectly situated with access to all areas of interest, both east and west.
