You really can't miss Tomatin Distillery. One of the highest in Scotland, sitting at 1028 feet above sea level, deep in the heart of the Monadhliath Mountains, it is still one of the most accessible by road, just 16 miles north of Aviemore and 16 miles south of Inverness on the A9 route from Perth to Thurso.
Established in 1897, Tomatin Scotch Whisky distillery is now the last working one in the Inverness area. With twelve stills in operation, it is one of the largest in Scotland - in the 1970s, a staggering 23 stills operated 365 days a year, producing an amazing 12 million litres of single malt Scotch Whisky a year.
At the Visitor Centre, our friendly guides reveal the mysteries of Scotch Whisky making and offer you taste of our Tomatin 12 year old single Highland malt Whisky, and the opportunity to browse around the well stocked gift shop.
The tour offers wheelchair access to all areas, and there's a disabled toilet in the Visitor Centre.
Also available throughout the day FREE of charge is a taste of our 12 year old Single Highland Malt Whisky, a taste of our Culloden Cream Liqueur and a viewing of our production process film.
