Ardbeg Distillery Islay Scotland

Ardbeg

When you arrive, be prepared for a warm welcome, as well as a warming dram of the most delicate and complex of all the Islay malts.

While distillery manager Mickey Heads makes sure the world never runs out of Ardbeg, his wife Jackie oversees the distillery shop and Old Kiln cafe. In 2004 the Distillery was voted Visitor Attraction of the Year by readers of Whisky Magazine, and it's easy to see why. You can browse the wide range of whiskies and gifts, exclusive to the distillery and will also have an opportunity to join the Ardbeg 'Committee', formed by thousands of whisky lovers worldwide to ensure the doors of Ardbeg never close again.

With the aroma of home baking and the sound of the sea outside, the Old Kiln Cafe is a draw for locals and visitors alike, offering freshly prepared lunches and lighter dishes. Chef Mary's Clootie Dumpling is a local legend!

Once you arrive on Islay take the road east out of Port Ellen, past Laphroaig and Lagavulin, and you'll soon see Ardbeg's rocky cove.
