A visit to Glenkinchie - the home of The Edinburgh Malt involves a short and pleasant drive from the City centre into the rolling farmland of East Lothian. Here you can see a working distillery, the making of a capital malt in every respect. An exhibition of malt whisky is housed in the listed red brick building which was formerly the floor maltings. At the bar a taste of the Glenkinchie Single Malt which has a warm finish, dry with a smoky spiciness.
Children under 8 years are welcome but are not admitted to the production areas.
To travel to the distillery by public transport take the No. 44b 'First bus' to Pencaitland from Edinburgh city centre.
The bus journey to Pencaitland is then followed by a 2 mile walk to reach the distillery. Alternativley, you can arrange for one of the local taxi companies to collect you from the bus stop. You can contact them on: 01875 340 805 or 01620 811 115.

Children under the age of 8 years old are not permitted into the production area of the distillery
Discount voucher to the value of £5 is given on entry and this can be redeemed against a 70cl bottle of Single Malt Whisky.
