Glenfiddich Single Malt Whisky Distillery Speyside: Distillery tour

A journey to the home of Glenfiddich makes you appreciate each mouthful even more. "Glenfiddich" means "Valley of the Deer" in Gaelic and, if it sounds like something straight out of a film, being there lives up to all expectations.


In the heart of the Highlands, surrounded by forest, the ruins of a medieval castle and a natural spring, is a landscape little changed since 1886. That's when Glenfiddich's founder, William Grant, gathered his family of nine children to build the distillery with their bare hands. Around one year later, on Christmas Day, 1887, the first Glenfiddich spirit trickled from the stills.

Each visit starts with a film about the history of Glenfiddich, after which we show you the very heart of our operation. Feel the heat rising from the mash tun and discover the giant washbacks, hand-made from Douglas fir and five metres high. Enter one of our traditional warehouses - whose earthen floors, stone walls, low ceilings and quiet atmosphere nurture the whisky to life - and then witness the clatter of the bottling hall, where Glenfiddich is packaged, ready for its journey across the world and into your home.
At the end of your visit we'll treat you to a dram of Glenfiddich in the malt barn. Our shop is also open for you to browse, or why not visit the Artists in Residence Exhibition.

Glenfiddich Connisseur's Tour


An in-depth tour of our distillery, which includes a visit to the atmospheric Solera warehouse and ends with a tutored nosing and tasting session. The tour takes approximately 2.5 hours


Price £20 per person. Maximum of 12 people per tour. Over 18s only.
