Connoisseurs Choice Ledaig 1990 Announced as 'Bottling of the Year 2008' by Loch Fyne Whiskies

One of Scotland's leading independent whisky shops, Loch Fyne Whiskies, has announced Connoisseurs Choice Ledaig 1990 to be the 'Bottling of the Year 2008.' Bottled by Gordon & MacPhail, Connoisseurs Choice Ledaig 1990 is an assertive whisky combining peppery spicies and cereal notes with a peaty influence.

Established in Elgin in 1895, Gordon & MacPhail specialise in bottling Single Malt Scotch Whiskies from 80 different distilleries throughout Scotland.  The company have remained proudly independent and family owned throughout its long history and has championed Single Malt Whiskies since its inception.

Gordon & MacPhail has long and established relationships with the various distillery owners.  As a result the company sends the highest quality oak casks to the various distilleries throughout Scotland to fill 'new make' spirit directly into these casks.  The casks then mature at the distillery of origin or at bonded warehouses in Elgin for many years before being bottled to the highest quality standards.  Gordon & MacPhail owns arguably the greatest selection of single malts anywhere in the world with whisky from every year from 1936 through to current younger vintages (with the exception of a couple of years during the Second World War).

Loch Fyne Whiskies is a small privately owned shop in Inveraray, a popular visitor stop in the West Highlands of Scotland. Established in 1993, the business is owned and managed by Richard & Lyndsay Joynson.
