STAGECOACH Bluebird have rebranded their 336 bus service through Forres as The Whisky Trail, linking to the many whisky distilleries in Moray.
The service will promote the public transport option for taking in the sights and sips of some of the distilleries dotted around the Speyside area.
The "Whisky Trail" vehicles, which travel from Forres, Findhorn, Elgin, and Aberlour to Dufftown, were initially introduced to the area in 2008 and have provided a safe and reliable service to passengers in the area. The vehicles are fully wheelchair and buggy accessible, fitted with CCTV and have some of the greenest engines available. The new livery will be a welcome change to the range of vehicles in the area and will highlight the distinctive service to tourists and local passengers alike.
The branded vehicles were officially launched by Ranald Robertson, partnership manager, Hi-Trans at the Glen Moray Distillery in Elgin last Thursday. Local Councillors, stakeholders, representatives from some of the local whisky distilleries and Stagecoach staff were present to introduce the new brand to the network.
The distinctive new brand will make the services easily recognisable and with a range of money saving tickets including the Elgin Megarider costing only £5 for 7 days unlimited travel, it will offer those wishing to visit distilleries a money saving option.
Speaking at the launch, Bryony Chamberlain, Stagecoach Bluebird managing director said: "We are delighted to launch the new brand here in Elgin.
The Speyside area generates a lot of income from the many whisky distilleries in the area and this rebranded route should make those wishing to visit them a lot easier. We have targeted tourists travelling to the distilleries and exploring the sights of Moray.
Our range of money saving tickets continue to offer great value with our Elgin Megarider for example, costing only £5 for 7 days' unlimited travel."
