Glenglassaugh Announce New Distillery Manager

The Glenglassaugh Distillery Company based near Portsoy, Aberdeenshire is pleased to announce the appointment of Graham Eunson as distillery manager with immediate effect.

Orkney born Graham joins Glenglassaugh from Glenmorangie where he was manager of the world famous distillery since 1998.  Graham previously worked for the Scapa Distillery on his home island and for Glendronach Distillery in Aberdeenshire.

Dutch investment house, Scaent, recently acquired Glenglassaugh for £5m from the Edrington Group.   The deal has also been backed with £2m start-up funding from Barclays commercial department.

Graham is delighted to be joining the company at such an early stage in its re-development.  He said, "During my career I have had to oversee the closures of both Scapa and Glendronach distilleries.  So the opportunity to breathe life back into a mothballed distillery of such iconic status was one I couldn?t resist."  He added, "Until now, I feel that I have very much been the custodian of existing brands.  With Glenglassaugh, I have the unique opportunity to make my mark on the whisky industry with a new exciting product. "

His role will present different challenges to those he faced at Glenmorangie.  The new Glenglassaugh brand has enormous growth potential which the company believes will appeal to the premium luxury global market.
