The Malt Whisky Trail: Speyside's Single Malt Distilleries

As well as possessing over half of Scotland's Malt Whisky distilleries, Speyside is the home of the World famous Malt Whisky Trail. The trail was established to promote a select group of the distilleries that were open to visitors. It includes eight of the area's best known distilleries and the Speyside Cooperage, just outside Criagellachie. Each distillery offers visitors a unique whisky tour which tells the story of their individual single malts. Central locations to the trail are Elgin, the major town in Speyside with its own railway station, and Dufftown, home to seven distilleries. The Official Malt Whisky Trail website.
