I am a Bar Manager
To benefit from the activities of ScotlandWhisky a bar will need to join the Scotch Whisky Embassy Network. Although originally established for hoteliers the network is slowly being rolled-out to bars. The Embassy bar network will be an exclusive group and therefore limited to a small number of Whisky bars in Scotland.
For a bar to join the group it must fulfill the following criteria:
- T o Stock a minimum of 25 Scotch Whiskies (including: a selection of standard and aged blended Scotch Whiskies; at least one whisky from each malt whisky region; and two Scotch whisky based liqueurs).
- Display a Scotch Whisky menu(s) with tasting notes.
- Employ an individual who has attended the Scotch Whisky Training School and passed the exam. The individual has to commit to being the outlet's Whisky ambassador and consequently pass on their knowledge to all team members. SEE: Scotch Whisky Training School
- Be located in an area with a strong focus on developing tourism e.g. not situated on industrial estate.
- Have management committed to development of Whisky tourism.
There is a annual membership fee, this entitles outlets to:
- Single page entry on ScotlandWhisky.com.
- Two jpeg photographs on the outlet's page (to be supplied by outlet).
- 200 words of copy (to be supplied by outlet).
- Listing of address and contact details.
- Reciprocal web-link to outlet's web-site.
- Permission to use the Scotlandwhisky logo on promotional material.
- Promotion of outlet under the activities of Scotlandwhisky.com.
